The Cactus Album is the debut studio album by American hip hop group 3rd Bass, released in 1989 on Def Jam Recordings. The album was predominantly produced by Sam Sever alongside group members MC Serch and Pete Nice, along with contributions by Prince Paul and The Bomb Squad. The album features the debut appearance of MF DOOM, then known as Zev Love X, on the song "The Gas Face".
The album received positive reviews from music critics, and the group gained publicity be being the second white group to achieve hip hop credibility, after the Beastie Boys. The Cactus Album peaked at #55 on the US Billboard 200, and #5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It was certified gold in sales by the RIAA in 1990. In 1998, it was selected by The Source as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums.
