TRU, an abbreviation of The Real Untouchables, was an American hip hop group based in Richmond, California. The group consisted of rappers from New Orleans, Louisiana and Richmond. TRU was led by Master P, who signed the group to his label No Limit Records. The group's first two albums, Understanding the Criminal Mind in 1992 and Who's da Killer? in 1993, were released independently in Los Angeles. TRU released their first No Limit Records album, True, in 1995 after moving to New Orleans, with the group having been reduced to brothers Master P, Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder. The group released three more albums before disbanding in 2005.
