Jesse Bonds Weaver, Jr. (born 22 June 1962), better known by his stage name Schoolly D, is an American rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is often credited with creating the hip hop subgenre gangsta rap with his song "P.S.K. What Does It Mean?", a song about the Park Side Killas, a street gang with which Schoolly D was affiliated. The song is considered the first hardcore hip hop song and features incidents of graphic sex, gunplay, drug references, and one of the first uses of the word "nigga" in a hip hop song.

Schoolly D's lyrics reflect urban realism, violence and sexual bravado. He later adopted an Afrocentric style, bring Afrocentric culture to hip hop alongside rappers such as KRS-One.
