Lawrence Krisna Parker (born 20 August 1965), better known by his stage name KRS-One, is an American rapper from The Bronx, New York City. He was a member of the influential hip hop group Boogie Down Productions, and has also had a lengthy solo career since he left the group in 1992. His stage name is an acronym for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone, and K, R and S are letters from both his middle name and the name of the Hindu god Krishna.

At the 2008 BET Awards, KRS-One was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for all his work and effort towards the Stop the Violence Movement as well as the overall pioneering of hip hop music and its culture.
