Jacob Dutton, better known by his stage name Jake One, is an American record producer from Seattle, Washington. He started making music on a Casio keyboard in 1992. While attending the University of Washington, a tape of his music was heard by Mr. Supreme, who requested Jake One to produce artists on his Conception Records label. Jake One produced numerous singles for Conception artists throughout the late 1990s, before rising to prominence through his work for popular artists G-Unit and De La Soul.

In 2008, Jake One released his debut studio album, White Van Music. Two years later, he released a collaboration album titled The Stimulus Package with rapper Freeway.
