Tony Cottrell, (born 5 May 1976) better known by his stage name Hi-Tek, is an American record producer, DJ and rapper from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is best known for his work with Talib Kweli as part of the duo Reflection Eternal, as well as for his association with Black Star (a duo consisting of Kweli and Mos Def).

Hi-Tek started his hip hop music career with the group Mood, producing numerous songs on the group's 1997 debut album Doom. The album also featured, amongst others, Brooklyn rapper Talib Kweli. Kweli and Hi-Tek developed a connection immediately, who together formed Reflection Eternal Kweli and Hi-Tek formed together to create the duo Reflection Eternal. Black Star's only album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star was released in 1998 featuring production by Hi-Tek, while Reflection Eternal released the Hi-Tek-produced Train of Thought in 2000.

As a signee to Rawkus Records, Hi-Tek produced a number of the label's projects, including the popular Soundbombing series; a three-record compilation of mostly Rawkus-based artists. In 2001, he released his debut solo album, Hi-Teknology. The album featured appearances by Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, Buckshot and others, with all production handled by Hi-Tek. It received some critical acclaim, and spawned the minor hit "Round & Round" with Cincinnati singer Jonell. However, Hi-Tek was not pleased with the promotion of the album after it only sold 250,000 copies, and left Rawkus soon after the albums release. He then signed to MCA Records, and began recording his second album, Hi-Teknology²: The Chip, which was released in 2006. He followed up the release in 2007 with his third album, Hi-Teknology³.

Hi-Tek currently works as a staff producer for Aftermath Entertainment and its affiliates, as well as with his own past associates such as Kweli and Mos Def.
