Devin began his career as a member of the group Odd Squad, who were signed to Rap-A-Lot Records and released their debut album, Fadanuf fa Erybody, in 1994. Devin later became a member of labelmate Scarface's group Facemob before beginning his own solo career in 1998 with the release of the album The Dude. After releasing three additional solo albums on Rap-A-Lot, Devin departed and has since released his music through several other independent labels.
