Teren Delvon Jones (born August 12, 1972), better known by his stage name Del the Funky Homosapien, is an American rapper and record producer from Oakland, California. He is the cousin of Ice Cube, and began his career writing for Ice Cube's group Da Lench Mob. In 1991, with the help of Ice Cube, Del released his debut album, I Wish My Brother George Was Here, at the age of eighteen. The album was a commercial success due to the large success of the single "Mistadobalina". However, Del was not happy with the limited musical range of the album, and severed ties with Ice Cube for his next album, No Need for Alarm.

His second album, released in 1993, saw the introduction of the Hieroglyphics collective, and helped to expose the regional Oakland sound of hip hop. With the collective, he formed the Hieroglypics Imperium label to publish and market material by the group. It took another four years for Del to release another album, which was Future Development and was released in 1997. He released Both Sides of the Brain in 2000, as well as Deltron 3030, which he released as a member of the supergroup of the same name.

He has since released another seven solo albums, as well as albums as a member of Hieroglyphics and Deltron 3030. His latest release was the free LP Iller Than Most, which was released in 2014.
