Robert Frazier, better known by his stage name Chill Rob G, is an American rapper from Jersey City, New Jersey. He was an original member of the Flavor Unit, which included DJ Mark the 45 King, Lakim Shabazz, Apache and Queen Latifah, among others. He signed to Wild Pitch Records in 1987 and released one album, Ride the Rhythm. The album was chosen by The Source magazine as one of the 100 Best Albums.
In 1989, the a cappella version of his song "Let the Words Flow" was sampled illegally and without permission by the German pop-dance group Snap! on their hit record "The Power". After the song gained popularity in Europe, a rapper by the name of Turbo B was recruited to record a new version of the song. Although most of the lyrics are the same, this song was ultimately used and promoted as Snap!'s official version.
Chill disappeared from the hip hop scene for the next decade. He stated that stress within his personal life, as well as his frustration at his record label, caused him to recede into obscurity at the peak of his career.
He recorded a second album, Black Gold, on independent label Echo International, but the album remained unreleased for years before appearing on iTunes in 2008.
