Cary Guy, better known by his stage name Big Shug, is an American rapper from Boston, Massachusetts. He began his career as an affiliate of Gang Starr, and was a member of the Gang Starr Foundation. Shug made his debut appearance on the 1994 song "F.A.L.A." from Gang Starr's album Hard to Earn. He released his debut single, "Treat U Better" in 1995, which was followed by "Crush" the following year. However, it would not be until 2005 that Shug released his debut album, Who's Hard?. In 2007, he signed to Babygrande Records to release his second album, Streetchamp. A third album, Otherside of the Game, was released in 2008.

Shug's fourth album, I.M.4-Eva, was released in 2012 with a 37-page booklet written by him detailing his career. His latest album, Triple OGzus, was released in 2015.
