Layson D. Kennard (November 6, 1973 - December 25, 1999), better known by his stage name Big Freeze, was an American rapper from the Watts district of Los Angeles, California. He was a member of the hip hop groups Nationwide Rip Ridaz and Bloods & Crips. Big Freeze was a member of the Watts Franklin Square Crips street gang.
Big Freeze debuted on the self-titled debut album by Young Soldierz in 1994. Later that year, he appeared on the Bloods & Crips album Bangin' on Wax 2... The Saga Continues. When the Bloods & Crips disbanded, Big Freeze became a member of the Nationwide Rip Ridaz and appeared on the two Nationwide Rip Ridaz albums: Nationwide Rip Ridaz and Betrayed (Can't Trust Nobody).
Big Freeze died during a gang related shooting.
