Aaron Phillip (born 31 January 1973), better known by his stage name Afu-Ra, is an American rapper from New York City, New York. He is a member of the Gang Starr Foundation, and is best known for his affiliation with the members of the group, especially mentor Jeru the Damaja.

He debuted in 1994 with an appearance on the song "Mental Stamina" from Jeru the Damaja's album The Sun Rises in the East. He made another appearance on Jeru's second album Wrath of the Math, on the song "Physical Stamina", in 1996. Afu-Ra's much anticipated debut album, Body of the Life Force, was released in October 2000. The album featured production from a number of prominent hip hop producers, such as DJ Premier, DJ Muggs, True Master and Da Beatminerz. He has since released three additional solo albums.
