The album's lewd topics were rare at the time, and it was released to a great deal of controversy. The album was deemed obscene in Florida, and one store clerk was charged with felony corruption of a minor for selling it to a 14-year-old girl, though he was later acquitted.

The albuum reached #128 on the Billboard 200, and #24 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
